YOUTH & FAMILY FIREARM SAFETY
Help children and families build safer habits around firearms. Shoot Safe offers child-focused firearm safety education for the home and parent-attended youth instruction that emphasizes safety, respect, responsible handling and family involvement.
TWO FAMILY-FOCUSED OPTIONS
HOME SAFETY EDUCATION
Designed to help children of different ages understand what to do if they encounter a firearm at home, at a relative's home or at a friend's home. The course emphasizes safe firearm storage and NRA Eddie Eagle safety principles.
PARENT-ATTENDED YOUTH INSTRUCTION
A family-oriented course where parents attend with their children. The current Shoot Safe listing describes instruction in firearm safety, basic shooting fundamentals, ethics, responsible use and firearm care.
CHILD SAFETY FIRST
Shoot Safe's Safe Kids course uses the familiar NRA Eddie Eagle safety message to give children a simple response when they encounter an unattended firearm.
STOP
Pause and do not approach the firearm.
DON'T TOUCH
Leave the firearm exactly where it is.
LEAVE & TELL
Leave the area and tell a trusted adult.

PARENT-ATTENDED INSTRUCTION
For families who want more than home-safety awareness, Shoot Safe also offers parent-attended youth instruction. Parents participate so safety expectations, responsible behavior and continuing practice can be reinforced at home.
Family participation matters:
Shoot Safe's current course listing specifically says parents need to attend with their children for the youth shooting course.
SAFE STORAGE AT HOME
Youth firearm safety does not replace responsible adult storage. Families should keep firearms secured and inaccessible to unauthorized users and store ammunition responsibly. Shoot Safe's Safe Kids course places specific emphasis on safe firearm storage.
